IsatPhone Pro firmware version 5.11.0 is released and available for download now.

 

Important: ClientSAT highly recommends that you upgrade now regardless of your current version. 

 

Recommendations for installation from Inmarsat
For users of 5.3.0 or higher this is a recommended upgrade, meaning that the features introduced by the firmware are important but not critical for the GSPS service, including the network and the IsatPhone Pro handset.
For users that who have not yet upgraded to version 5.3.0 or higher, this upgrade to 5.8 is considered  to be ‘mandatory’ to avoid the phone becoming non-operational.

To check you have the latest version on your IsatPhone Pro, go to Menu > Settings > About > Firmware version.

As a service to our customers for $69.00 inc GST. ClientSAT will perform the update of the firmware and send the phone back to your postal address via Express Post Platinum.

Time and date change on Iridium phones

As part of Iridium’s standard satellite network maintenance, Iridium must reset time settings on the Iridium Satellite Network. These time settings are scheduled to be reset on Wednesday 4th March, 2015 at 4:00am AEST (GMT+10).

For Iridium satellite phone users, the reset will have no impact on service availability or on the ability to successfully complete calls or SMS messages. The only change you will notice is that the appearance of the date and time displayed on your Iridium phone will change to 29th December, 2007 at 5:26pm AEST (GMT+10) at the scheduled reset time and will progress from this time until your phone settings are adjusted.

To correct the time and date displayed on your Iridium satellite phone/s, you must update your phone settings after the network time settings are reset by Iridium on Wednesday 4th March.

To update your Iridium 9555 or Iridium Extreme® satellite phone follow these steps:
1. Dial *#99#2014051114235500#
2. Press the green “send” key.
3. Turn your phone off and then turn it back on

ClientSAT launches Inmarsat Pre-paid Flexi Vouchers!


Spare fuel for your phone - top up your phone's fuel tank when you want to.

When Inmarsat changed the lifetime of their pre-paid sim cards we were inundated with complaints from our clients. You wanted better value. It has arrived.


Air time vouchers - We now provide vouchers for both topping up & adding airtime to new Inmarsat pre-paid sim cards. You chose when to use your airtime. Think of a voucher as you would a spare can of fuel for your vehicle. Carry it with you until you need it. You can activate the voucher whilst in the field so your purchased time starts from that moment, just like pouring extra fuel into your vehicle when your tank is low. This is a ClientSAT initiative. Other suppliers may insist that you top up online needing internet access or during office hours and some will only do the top up for you. We give you the freedom to do what is best for you.


A voucher has a “shelf life” of 12 months & needs to be activated with in that time. If you activate a voucher before the expiry date of an existing pre-paid then any unused credit will roll over and be included to the new voucher term.
If your current ClientSAT sim card was supplied before 2012 then please contact us to ensure that these latest voucher options are available to you. If needed we will upgrade your old sim card for free.

IsatPhone Pro firmware version 5.6.1 is released and available for download now.

Important: Firmware version 5.6.1 supersedes the  firmware version 5.5.1 that was released in April 2014.

SUBSIDY SCHEME CLOSING (Announced 27/02/2014)

The closing date for receipt of new applications is 5:00pm on Monday 31st March 2014 (AEST).

ClientSAT predicts that there will be a massive influx of applications before 31st of March. Once approved you will have two months to purchase and connect your phone.

CALLS TO 000

As from 1 July 2013 all IsatPhone Pro handsets sold in Australia must have the ability to dial an Emergency Call Centre. Calls made to ‘000’ and ‘112’ will be routed to a local emergency call centre free of charge. Dialling 000 will not need any country codes to be used. All IsatPhones which have been upgraded to the latest firmware, 5.3.0, will be able to use this service.

 

*Note* No test calls may be made – this is a live emergency service. Inmarsat has undertaken an extensive test programme to ensure that this service is fully operational at the time of launch, further testing outside of this test programme by other parties is not permitted.

The deadline for IsatPhone Pro users to update the firmware on their phones to version 5.3.0 has been extended to Friday, 28 November, 2014

To check wihich firmware version is in your phone, select the MENU key, scroll down to the SPANNER icon and press select, scroll down until ABOUT is seen, select and the Firmware version will be displayed e.g. v5.0.0 (The phone does not have to be outside to perform this)

 

What do I need to update the firmware?
As well as the ISATPhone Pro and USB cable, you will need a Windows PC, preferably a Laptop with a fully charged battery, or a Desktop running on UPS power. You will also need to download the Firmware upgrade (Windows) program, the firmware file, the USB drivers and the firmware upgrade instructions which can all be downloaded at http://isatphonelive.com/support . INSTALL YOUR DRIVERS BEFORE INSTALLING THE FIRMWARE UPGRADE TOOL or it will fail.

NOTE: Upgrading the firmware of any device should be done with care. Power interruptions to either the ISATPhone Pro or the PC during the firmware upgrade process can lead to an ISATPhone Pro that requires return to the Inmarsat factory in Europe for factory only reprogramming. 

If you are not confident with downloading zipped files from the Internet, extracting the files, Installing the USB drivers and following specific instructions, ClientSAT can update the firmware for you for a $69 service fee. This includes returning the phone back to you via express courier. Please contact admin@clientsat.com.au before sending the phone to us.

Inmarsat outage alert. This affects InmarsatIsatPhone pro handsets.

Inmarsat is carrying out essential maintenance to network services on the 24th April 2013. Please see the below maintenance window for this outage:

Expected Impact
During this time there will be one single outage lasting approximately 5 minutes to all GSPS traffic in the APAC region.

There is no other expected impact, but users of all services should be aware.

IsatPhone Pro owners will need to have their handset updated

Please be advised that all IsatPhone Pro owners will need to have their handset updated to the latest firmware v5.3.0 or higher before 31 December 2013.

To check wihich firmware version is in your phone, select the MENU key, scroll down to the SPANNER icon and press select, scroll down until ABOUT is seen, select and the Firmware version will be displayed e.g. v5.0.0 (The phone does not have to be outside to perform this)

This is a mandatory firmware upgrade and failure to update your handset before this time will result in the handset experiencing problems connecting to the network.

ClientSAT launches the Product Upgrade Guarantee
 

Inview of the common upgrades to satellite equipment firmware ClientSAT today announced our guarantee that all Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro satellite phones are the latest version of firmware. We have got to version 5 in a relative short time since the phone was released just 15 months ago Australia. This is a staggering number of new firmware versions. If ClientSAT clients do not wish to or are unable to upgrade their phones to the latest version (it can take over an hour to download multiple drivers, install the software and then in turn import the latest firmware) simply return your satellite phone at any time with in the first three years from purchase and we will upgrade the firmware to the latest  firmware for you for a minimum service fee plus freight. Please contact admin@clientsat.com.au for further advice.

Latest IsatPhone Pro firmware supports personal alert feature
 

New IsatPhone Pro firmware that supports the new personal alert feature has been released.

The recommended upgrade (to version 5.0.0) lets end-users benefit from the newly-introduced safety feature, enabling them to send their GPS position, along with a short pre-configured message, as an email or text message to up to 10 recipients.


Peace of mind

The personal alert function provides added peace of mind for IsatPhone Pro users who may be travelling in remote areas that lack basic communications.

The upgrade also includes a fix so that IsatPhone Pro can correctly support all Australian time zones.

IsatPhone Pro now compatible with Windows 7

IsatPhone Pro can now be used with Windows 7, thanks to the release of new USB drivers and a firmware upgrade tool.

The new USB drivers improve the behaviour of the handset with the data service when using Windows 7 on a laptop or desktop PC.

The firmware upgrade tool allows users to carry out firmware upgrades using Windows 7.

Optimised tools
Once the USB drivers are installed, Windows 7 users can load any of the approved optimised tools for use with the IsatPhone Pro's data service.

The USB drivers v5.28.9.1 and firmware upgrade tool v2.2 are available to download from the IsatPhone Pro website.
